It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Milton Field, known as “Buddy”, a beloved resident of Damascus, Va. at the age of 82. Albert peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the comfort of his own home with family by his side.
He is survived by his loving sister, Mary Key, and her devoted husband, Tony. His presence will be deeply missed by his special niece, Michelle Widener, and her husband, David; his nephew, Greg Fain; and his great nephews, Tyler Fain and Josh Riggs along with his wife, Haleigh, all of Damascus, Va.
Although he did not have any biological children, Albert was a father figure to Matthew Baceols and his wife, Preya. His caring nature extended to Matthew’s children, Rebecca Baceols, of Queens, N.Y., who was his granddaughter at heart; as well as, Christopher Baceols, of Westchester, N.Y. Albert was also a dear friend to their mother, Aurora Porter, of Pinellas Park, Fla. Additionally, he shared an indescribable bond with Suzanne Taix from Culver City, Calif., who was like a daughter to him. He is also survived by two lifelong best friends, Dennis Ambrose and Ron Marsh, both of the Rhode Island area; and his devoted German Shepherds, Alpha and Omega, who were like children to him.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Helen Stewart for her exceptional care during the last seven years - her dedication brought comfort to Albert's final years. A heartfelt appreciation is also extended to Helen's husband, Jack, for his kindness and support during this time. Furthermore, Dalton Campbell from Damascus, Va. deserves a special mention for his invaluable assistance during this past summer.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the remarkable team at Ballad Home Hospice, whose compassionate care provided solace during Albert's illness.
He loved growing any plant he could get his hands on and had the green thumb of the family. Albert loved his family and close friends fiercely with all he had in him.
A private service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, for family and dear friends.
