James Glen Wheeler

James Glen “Jimmy” Wheeler, of Abingdon, Va., age 65, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.  He was born August 27, 1958, to the late Glen Wheeler and Ruby Lula McCracken Wheeler.  He was a retired diesel mechanic and loved to volunteer as a little league coach. 

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was also preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Hazel Pauline Thomas Wheeler; and a brother, Glen Wheeler. 

He is survived by his son, James “Lloyd” Wheeler and wife, Kristin, of Saltville, Va.; sister, Linda Helton of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Doug Wheeler and wife, Renee, of Cleveland, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Gracie Chafin and husband, Ashton, Memphis Wheeler, and Lilly Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Nixon and Hudson Chafin; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sue Harless.   

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
