Richard White is a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., with over 20 years of experience in the funeral industry. Known for his calm and compassionate demeanor, he provides comfort and guidance to families during their most difficult times. Richard and his wife, Tamara, are blessed with two children and three grandchildren. He is an active member of Bridge Church Assemblies of God in Bristol, Tenn., where his faith and commitment to serving others continue to guide his life and work.

Brandon McPherson is a lifelong resident of Abingdon, Va. and a graduate of Abingdon High School. He is currently in his 21st year of law enforcement, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to serving and protecting his community. Brandon is a devoted husband and father of two.

Danny Thompson is a lifelong resident of Bristol, Va., and a proud graduate of Virginia High School—Go Bearcats! He faithfully served as a chaplain in local jails for 31 years, offering guidance, compassion, and spiritual support to those in need. In addition to his ministry work, Danny has spent eight years serving families in the funeral profession. He is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who values faith, family, and community.

Deborah serves as the Director of both the Ladies’ Ministry and Senior Adult Ministry at her Church. Throughout the years, Deborah has served as the director of children’s, youth, and drama ministries in other churches, as well as coordinated and spoken at ladies’ conferences and events.

Deborah is retired from a career as a Legal and Executive Administrator for law firms, financial institutions, and corporations. Deborah loves being a pastor’s wife and supporting and participating with her husband, Pastor Bill, in visitation and other aspects of his ministry. She loves tea parties, hiking and spending time with her many friends.

Jennifer Thomason

Jennifer is the daughter of the late Jody Crabtree of Wheeling, W. Va., and Teresa Crabtree of Mohawk, W. Va. She was born and raised in southern West Virginia and later spent time in upstate South Carolina, where she completed coursework toward an Associate's degree in Human Resource Management before earning her CNA and RMA credentials and beginning her career in healthcare.


With over 11 years of experience in the healthcare field, Jennifer currently serves as a Registered Medication Aide (RMA) at Brookdale Bristol while continuing her education and pursuing a professional career in mortuary science. Her work is guided by compassion, professionalism, and a deep respect for those she serves and their families.


Jennifer and her husband, George Thomason, reside in Abingdon, Va. Together they share a close-knit family that includes one daughter, two sons, and two granddaughters. Outside of her professional life, Jennifer enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and training Australian Cattle Dogs.

Sid Lanier relocated to Abingdon from Williamsburg, Va., in 2021. Sid brings a wealth of experience to our community, having previously served on the Board of Directors for Sentara Hospital and the Lions Medical Eye Bank and Research Center of Eastern Virginia. He also served as a Trustee at Bluefield University.


Currently, Sid serves as the President of the Abingdon Lions Club, where he leads local service initiatives and community outreach. Furthering his impact across the region, he is the incoming Membership Chairman for Lions District 24-C in Southwest Virginia, focusing on strengthening and growing club membership.  


Sid attends Emmanuel Baptist Church.


On a personal note, a fun fact about Sid is that he is a licensed pilot.

Matthew Riley

Matthew Riley hails from Abingdon, Va.  He graduated from Abingdon High School where he lettered in football and competed in wrestling.  He went on to earn his Associate's degree from Virgnia Highlands Community College and a Bachelor of Science from Liberty University.  Matthew is married to Kayla Riley and currently serves full-time as an E-7 in the Virginia Army National Guard.

Shirley is originally from Big Stone Gap, Va.  Prior to her retirement as an Assistant Vice President of First Bank & Trust in 2007, she enjoyed a 35- year career in the banking industry.  


Shirley currently resides in Glade Spring with her husband, Roy Kyle, who retired from the Virginia State Police with 30 years of service.  They have two children and enjoy spoiling their four beautiful grandchildren.  Shirley is also the sister of Ronnie Perry and an aunt to Matthew Perry.  She looks forward to serving the people of Southwest Virginia.

Ronnie “Ron” Perry lives in Kingsport, Tenn. and is formerly of Big Stone Gap, Va.  He is the father of Matthew Perry and is a retired businessman.  Prior to his retirement he also worked in the coal industry for Westmoreland Coal Company.  Ronnie is an avid golfer and attends The Promise Church in Church Hill, Tenn.

Matthew is the only child of Ronald "Ronnie" Perry and the late Jeanie Hall Perry of Big Stone Gap, Va.  He is a graduate of the former Powell Valley High School and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Ga.  Matthew has consistently held an office with the Southwest Virginia Funeral Directors Association or the Virginia Funeral Directors Association since 2012 and is a Past President of the Virginia Funeral Directors Executive Board.  Matthew’s caring attitude and gentle demeanor accurately portray his belief that client families should be handled with discretion and respect.  The Perrys are of the Southern Baptist faith and are members of Abingdon Baptist Church.

Matthew is also employed as a funeral director at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va.


Amanda Reeves Perry

Amanda is the only child of the late James “Sonny” Reeves, Jr. and Judy Newman Reeves of Harriman, Tenn., and is married to Matthew Perry.  She attained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service from John A. Gupton College in 2009 while simultaneously serving her apprenticeship at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn. She obtained her initial licensure as a Tennessee Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2010. Upon relocating to Virginia, Amanda became licensed to practice funeral directing and embalming in the Commonwealth and expanded her repertoire to include crematory operation, preneed insurance sales and monument sales.  As the daughter of a lifelong educator, the value of learning was instilled in Amanda from an early age, and she subsequently earned her Bachelor's of Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University in 2020.  For the past decade, Amanda has tirelessly devoted her efforts to her career in funeral service.  She is currently serving on the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors & Embalmers.
