Perry Cremation & Funeral Alternatives, LLC was formed in 2023 by husband-and-wife duo, Matthew Perry and Amanda Reeves Perry. With a combined 25 years of experience serving the bereaved families of Washington County, Virginia, the Perrys are excited for the opportunity to continue their calling. They pledge to observe the traditions and compassionate service their client families have come to expect and deserve.

Matthew is the only child of Ronald "Ronnie" Perry and the late Jeanie Hall Perry of Big Stone Gap, Va.  He is a graduate of the former Powell Valley High School and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Ga.  Matthew has consistently held an office with the Southwest Virginia Funeral Directors Association or the Virginia Funeral Directors Association since 2012 and is the Immediate Past President of the Virginia Funeral Directors Executive Board.  Matthew’s caring attitude and gentle demeanor accurately portray his belief that client families should be handled with discretion and respect.  The Perrys are of the Southern Baptist faith and are members of Abingdon Baptist Church.

Matthew is also employed as a funeral director at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va.

Amanda is the only child of the late James “Sonny” Reeves, Jr. and Judy Newman Reeves of Harriman, Tenn., and is married to Matthew Perry.  She attained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service from John A. Gupton College in 2009 while simultaneously serving her apprenticeship at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn. She obtained her initial licensure as a Tennessee Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2010. Upon relocating to Virginia, Amanda became licensed to practice funeral directing and embalming in the Commonwealth and expanded her repertoire to include crematory operation, preneed insurance sales and monument sales.  As the daughter of a lifelong educator, the value of learning was instilled in Amanda from an early age, and she subsequently earned her Bachelor's of Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University in 2020.  For the past decade, Amanda has tirelessly devoted her efforts to her career in funeral service.  She is currently serving as the Southwest District Representative of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association.
